Product introduction
Walnuts are the main cash crops in Aksu, which has the reputation of “township of walnuts”. As the saying goes, “three peaches, four apricots, four pears, five years, and nine years to eat a walnut”. It takes a long time for the walnut tree to grow and bear fruit. But now Aksu’s walnut can harvest large and fragrant characteristic walnut in the next year after planting through technical improvement.
Aksu’s walnuts are not only sold domestically, but also exported to Germany, Britain, Canada, Australia and other countries in large quantities. In addition to fresh food, walnuts here are also processed into deep-processed products such as walnut oil, food, candy, and beverage, extending the industrial chain, increasing added value, and bringing rich benefits to local people.
The planting of walnut has become one of the main fruit tree varieties developed in Aksu.

Walnut185, Xin33, Xinfeng and other local varieties have become the main varieties in the region and even in Xinjiang. It has the effects of tonifying qi and blood, warming the kidney and lung, calming asthma and resolving phlegm, enriching blood and hair, and benefiting the brain. It is a good nourishment for all ages. Among them, the walnut produced in Wensu County has the best quality, and Wen185 is named after the temperature of Wensu County.
Production area
The walnut production area is mainly distributed in Wensu County, which is located in the south of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, at the foot of the highest peak of the Tianshan Mountains – Tomur Peak, with 14 major glaciers such as Tomur Su and Qiongtai Lan. It is a typical continental warm temperate arid climate, with an average annual temperature of 10.2 ℃ and an average annual precipitation of 63 mm.
At the same time, Wensu County is also the only place in Xinjiang where rice can be planted in a large area. Because Wensu County is located in the south of Tomur Peak, the Tianshan Mountains block part of the cold current in the north. At the same time, Tomur Peak Glacier is also the natural reservoir of Wensu County. Tomur Peak is covered with snow all year round, and the ice and snow melt in summer, and the water flows into rivers, irrigating all fields and orchards in Wensu County.
Geographical climate
With an altitude of 7435.29 meters, Tomur Peak is a natural solid reservoir with rugged terrain, steep peaks and unique ice melting landform. There are 43 rivers and rivers in the county, with natural water resources reserves of 9.64 billion cubic meters and groundwater reserves of 1.618 billion cubic meters.
